To the residents of Atascadero and to our Members and supporters who are wondering where we have been:
After the protracted struggle over the rewrite of the Atascadero's General Plan, many of us were left with the feelings of disillusionment. This disillusionment, combined with the various crises, including, the loss of several hard working members of our Board, led to a period of introspection and, I'm sorry to say, inactivity.
Recently however, I was asked by some of the members to bring the Organization back. To this end I have convened the Board and we have appointed some new Directors. We are still looking for more. We need people who are willing to help organize public events. We need public speakers that can carry our message to City Hall by appearing before the City Council, Planning Commission etc. and we need people who are willing to accept positions of responsibility.
Of course we need new members too. Membership contributions pay for almost everything we do, from mailings to televising City Council Meetings. So please contact us and sign up for our newsletter. We will do our best to keep you informed about issues important to the residents of Atascadero.
Everyone is invited to attend our General Membership Meeting. I will be there and will try to answer any questions about the Organization or current events in Atascadero.
